• Q: Are the E26 and E27 bases compatible?
• Yes. The E26 is the standard socket in the USA with 120 volts. The E27 is the European variant with a rated voltage of 220 volts. However, an E27 bulb can easily fit into an E26 socket. The bases/bulbs are interchangeable except for the rated voltage. Therefore, E27 LED bulbs with universal voltage can be used in both E26 and E27 sockets.
